There is no constitutional requirement for tax returns to be President, therefore no need to release taxes.

What would have been your response if a bunch of red states had enacted a requirement that a candidate must produce a birth certificate before being added to the ballot back when Obama was running?

There is a constitutional requirement that presidents be natural-born citizens and Obama had released information questioning that fact.
