Because people like you say so? What was Baylor before Art Briles.....and now another good hire with Ruhle.....it is a stupid, lame and really pathetic excuse “Oh, look at MU, we can’t compete....we never have so we never will”. If your kids talked like that you will tell to quick feeling sorry for themselves. If the University ever decides to really commit to football they can be a perennial top 20 team.....there is no reason they can’t....except they have the same mentality you and others do in limiting themselves by dipping their toe “half in the water” by hiring no body coaches. When was the last time MU hired a football coach somebody had heard of? Larry Smith? Before that....Woody (with zero college recruiting experience)....other than that it has been lower tier coaches promoted...we got lucky with Pinkel and we keep trying to recreate it. Throw $5-6 mil at a known, successful D1 coach and watch. Hell, look at ku....Miles, who is on his last leg and seems cognitive absent half the time is out recruiting Barry to the worst program in history in his first full year of recruiting. This **** is not rocket science
