1) It may prevent him from trying to influence potential witnesses identified by the report;
2) The report may lead to nothing, so it prevents the waste of time by the accused;
3) If the investigation leads to nothing, not sharing prevents him from using any information politically against the investigators.
Any "damage" done by not sharing at this point, can be rectified by giving the Defendant/accused ALL information and adequate time to prepare when appropriate to do so.
It's all a political nothingburger anyway, right?
