All teenagers feel uncomfortable and experience obstacles as they grow into their sexuality.
Sexuality is very fluid for a small number of youth today. I have seen a handful of kids at my school "come out" as transgendered only to "go back" a short time later. I have seen some that have done this more than once.
If someone really feels that they need to be a different gender it is none of my business unless you expect me to foot the bill for it. Once you ask me to pay you give me permission to voice an opinion.
BUT, I do not think anyone should have life-altering surgery until they are at least in their early twenties. Too many have buyers remorse later.
A nine-year-old does not understand sexuality well enough to understand what is going on. If they do understand sexuality at that age there are other issues that need to be addressed in their household.
