His cumulative record over 2 years surely measure favorably against other newly hired coaches P 6 programs coming from the same depths. This has been brought up several times but that total would at least be 3-5 games better had Jontay not gotten injured. That's even had Mark Smith not gotten his eligibility. Everything was set up to go through him last year.
