We don't have to pretend that games against Nebraska never meant anything. That wasn't the situation we faced, they had already left the conference.

Games against craptastic members like Baylor and Texas Tech never meant anything, and certainly even worse members like W. Virginia and TCU would have meant less.

MU wasn't faced with a decision to remain in the Big 12 or leave it. The Big 12 had already collapsed. MU faced a choice to remain with the leftover crap and Texas, or join the best conference in the nation. You don't have to be delusional to convince oneself of the obvious answer.
