If Caleb wasn't ever going to come here, I doubt he takes the OV.

He had already unofficially been on campus numerous times, probably more than any other recruit during Martin's tenure. He didn't need to take an OV, but he did. Martin managed to make him think about coming here, but it wasn't enough.

That's what happens with high level recruiting. At best, you're looking at a 20% chance most likely. The reason Blue Bloods get classes full of them is because their recruiting profile is filled with kids like that, so they "miss" on a lot, but still get studs.
