Jackson Scholz in 1920 set IAAF official 100m world record at 10.6.
The famous Jesse Owens would lower the IAAF world record of 10.3 in 1936 to 10.2. That 10.2 was equaled ten times by others and eventually bested 20 years later to 10.1. Owen's long jump world record lasted 25 years.
You bet 5-7 1/2" tall Scholz was a fast dude. In 1924 he sets the 200m world record at 21.6 in the Paris Olympic Finals for another gold.
