and another set for Colorado and a third set for Iowa. It cost a lot of money to develop and produce cars that meet those emission standards and the rest of the country is forced to pay for those Cali standards.

Have you ever tried to explain to your child why half of the products you buy have a warning that they contain materials known to cause cancer in Cali? Did you tell your kid that only Cali cares about cancer or that Calis were just lunitics and no one pays any ttention to them?
