Simply put, people support college football over NFL football.
Let college football lose its amateurism and fewer people will go to the games, fewer people will support college football and fan interest will diminish.
Then here come the lawsuits from all of the title IX athletes wanting their fair share.
If you treat college football as an NFL farm system, the rich will only get richer and the poor poorer. People think this will increase parity. There will be no parity,
especially as there will be no enforceable way to control or prevent CHEATING.
With declining attendance, fewer concession sales, fewer eyeballs watching college football it means shrinking revenue. Declining growth does not bode well for college football.
Yeah, let's radically change football and see how well it does? Me, I don't think it will go very well at all.
