And what about the urbanite students that aren't stupid? Can they get into the regular physics classes with the racists, or are they forced to learn physics in the segregated ghetto? With pretty picture books and ebonics speaking professors?
Will their degrees have a "short bus" notation, specifying that they took the diversity physics instead of real physics?
Here's the problem, if you're an employer looking at a black physics major from stanford (very impressive) and a white one from a state school (yawn) what do you do. Both have equal grades, but one went to STANFORD.
If you know that stanford desperately wants urbanites to graduate from their physics department, wouldn't that diminish the degree? You know that the black student at stanford was probably admitted with lower standards and once at the university, they dumbed down the curriculum and probably inflated the grades so everyone would feel good about themselves.
Black kids with a degree in segregated physics...you want to hire one? What do you think will happen if her work is not up to your company standards?
