I'm not a gun owner. And, I'm not against laws that would be more restrictive necessarily. I just don't think it will matter. And, any legislation creates a slippery slope. People with a screw loose will still find a way to harm their fellow Humans. The overwhelming, vast majority of guns in circulation in the US contribute to zero violence. I think Ben Franklin said it best when talking about trading freedoms for "security."
