pre-injury. Saw some things he liked and felt he could contribute at this level when he became available but he wasn't healthy so that assessment was based on seeing him as a freshman. The issue with Santos sounds like he never regained his pre-injury form, not that he was never talented. Kind of what San Diego State must have thought when they got Teki Gill Ceasar, its not that they mis-evaluated him he just couldn't perform at the prior level anymore.
Mann has a rather proven track record of talent evaluation. I think he is a great asset on this staff.
