If you desire the support of the public, why do you wish to aggressively and needlessly alienate a great deal of that public?

This is common sense. Johnny Carson, Jay Leno, Jerry Seinfeld, Michael Jordan are some who got this and benefitted.

To each his/her own. I simply wonder why some feel compelled to make self defeating decisions.
