You are afraid of citizenship status so you deny that it is demographic. ANYTHING that distinguishes us can be demographic. The actual question is what is the value of that data. Anyone with at least a partially functional brain can see the value in knowing who is living in your country. Not to mention that this data is very useful in many types of budgeting.
