But you either are or aren’t a top rated national recruit. How you actually perform is another matter.
I think we all agree, RP needs to recruit better players, period, if she ever wants to get Mizzou over the hump. She has done a good job bringing this program, incrementally, to where we are today. But where we are today, clearly, is a good, competitive team that can’t quite get a national seed and home regional, and who has not come remotely close to getting out of the first weekend of the NCAA tournament. Maybe this is the best we will ever be under RP, idk.
This is a critical time for the program, going into the post Sophie era. Do we make the next move and get to the sweet 16, which we have never done, do we stay about the same, or do we regress.
Having not seen the 2 freshmen phenom play a minute of D1 yet, and with the other glaring question marks, my guess is that we regress a little this year. I don’t think we win as many games, or more, than we did last year, which is an interesting and encouraging feature of every single RP team here.
This might just be a more fun team to watch this year, even if they regress a bit in the win column. But man, certain teams are just going to kill us on the boards.
