It's all dumb, but the bowl ban specifically punishes player on the roster now who had absolutely nothing to do with it.

If the NCAA truly was outraged by what happened at Mizzou and cared about the education of its student-athletes, we wouldn't be talking bowl bans or scholarships reductions. We'd be talking about the NCAA penalties mandating Mizzou make significant investments in student-athlete educational services. Rather than a bowl ban, have us play and require we send all bowl proceeds + $X back to the general education fund.

Of course, that kind of "punishment" might make Mizzou more attractive to other recruits in the future who care about academics, but so what? If the punishment creates a better environment for the education of our student-athletes, is that not the goal?

If a more punitive response is for some reason necessary, pull a few future scholarships.
