Why can't she redshirt?

During the blowout Monday with UCLA, the OU CF'er Mendez came into pitch and the announcer said she was their last pitching option. Since Parker is still listed on the roster, I assume that meant she was hurt or simply redshirting and therefore not available.

Please explain why this message is being reported.
