Self would have no say in it.

Illinois and DePaul never play but the powers that be for the Big Ten/Big East challenge made sure it happened. This would not be Kansas scheduling it.

However, they do try to match similar teams based on how good they are. Missouri would not get Kansas. Kansas would be more likely to get Kentucky or one of the other top SEC teams.

Sadly, that was another reason Illinois got DePaul a couple of years ago.
