Mitchell Smith does not possess the capacity to be better than Puryear because he is a vastly inferior player. What you are showing is there were specific instances where Puryear had a bad game overlapping with Smith having an uncharacteristically good game where their statistical output in those two categories was comparable.
But Smith also doesn't move without the ball, can't defend, doesn't set good picks, doesn't facilitate, has no back to the basket game/command rotations, etc which isn't measured in what you are compiling.
