Mckinney/Gardner were considerably better backcourt

players than anything we had this year, Kevin Young that season was roughly comparable to Tilmon, and we had 4 top 50 caliber recruits in Horton/Brown/Grimes/Lyons that were starting their careers. I don't think that team was less talented than last years team.

1973-74 is before my time, so I didn't watch that team play. It did have two guys avging > 17 ppg and another > 14 ppg and won the conference tournament. It couldn't have been that bad.
