People are probably forgetting how great of a pro day workshop that Gabbert had. Gabbert was a faster runner, Lock maybe a little better at downfield passing. They both tended to throw the fastball on short passes too much, both had strong arms and prototypical size, Gabbert just a little bigger.
Remember Gabbert came out as a junior, not a senior, so how would Lock have compared last year?
Lock has great pro potential, and as others have said, hopefully he will land in a better situation than Gabbert did, and have a better pro career. I'm definitely rooting for Lock, and greatly appreciate him contributing so much at MU.
