Getting away with it wasn't something to be celebrated. Even under the basis that lack of competence and intelligence allowed you to be taken advantage of for treasonous purposes rather than willingly participating.

It wasn't that long ago that even a 3rd of the revelations would make such a person universally despised across all party and intelligence lines. So its significant just from a realization standpoint that is no longer the case.
