Isrealites AT THAT TIME to follow so they would be able to deliver the Messiah later. It's not intended to be a life rules to be adhered to now. The Old Testament was prophecy.

The New Testament is prophecy fulfilled. Jesus came to abolish the rules and to adhere to 2 basic Commandments, Love God and Love your neighbor as yourself. When people who profess to be Christian and who're judgemental of others sin behavior, while not being sin free themselves, they are being a hypocrite. There's a lot of hypocrisy on this board as people seem to hate everyone who has an opposing view, especially one in particular.
