I guess you have to be the one in the situation. Like a soldier/medic who OD's a guy on morphine because he's physically shattered and not likely to make it. I wouldn't want to be that guy, but I can certainly understand why they did it.
I don't disagree with you that those kids are worth saving and having a chance at the best life they can live. I'm just saying there are certain situations where death might be preferable to the struggle.
