in where we get seeded.
If we just miss getting the top 16 seed and home regional, we have no one to blame but ourselves. It was easily within our reach. Just 3 fewer losses on the season and we would clearly get a home regional, and it’s not hard at all to look where those should have been:
1. The loss at Florida, just awful.
2. At least split the two home games against good mid majors Green Bay and South Dakota. Green Bay’s RPI is 72, South Dakota’s is 37. We are usually really tough at home. No excuse for losing both those games.
3. Just win one of these 3 games: Tennessee at home, LSU or Auburn on the road.
Do that and we finish 26-7 instead of 23-10, our RPI is in the 15-20 range, and we get a home regional. It was that close, and easily attainable. Every game counts. We just didn’t play as if they did over the course of the whole season.
