key. is the pay-for-recruits culture a systemic issue? or just isolated to a few bad actors here and there? i'd like to believe it's the latter, but the more and more we hear about it the more i'm led to believe it's the norm rather than the exception. sadly, i think the same is true on the academic side. i suspect the cheating there is just as egregious and widespread, if not more-so.
