Van Leer was just a guy, only a notch below.
The idea that Mark Smith would have neutralized Quinderry Witherspoon and that left handed shooting guard they have (whose name I can't remember) is preposterous.
MU has gone into the final weekend of the season with a chance to win the regular season championship 1 time since the 14-0 Big 8 champs. That, quite frankly, is a laughable joke.
Hence my point about over-rated talent.
