Gabbert has certainly played more, playing in 56 games and starting 48.
Chase has only started in 4 games, starting 2, but interestingly has appeared in 62 (mainly in his first years in NO).
Based on those stats, you'd think Gabbert had a far better career. Yet look at Blaine's win loss record as a starter - 13/35, .271 winning percentage (Chase is at 2/2 .500).
Does Chase, overcoming size disadvantages to have a long and undistinguished career as a backup get the nod?
Or does Blaine - full of talent, sticking around the league despite not winning, and still earning the starting nod from time to time, be the one who gets the nod as having the better career?
Tough call, I'm frankly not sure. My heart wants to say Chase, but my brain says its hard to say a backup had a better career than someone who earned many starts (though won fairly few of them).
