What a game to watch, two hours of pure excitement for the teams fans.
It was great to see Cunningham come out with an offensive mindset to score, get her shots. I’ve not seen that this year and have always thought the teams success was dependent on her doing that. She played great , gave the team the offensive threat they need. I thought late in the game she tired and her game leaked a bit.
The play where she took the ball to the basket on a turnover , dumped off to Levy, and then Levy threw the ball away, I blame that on Cunningham for not going hard and finishing.
Porters play, the fouls. almost as if she didn’t want to stay out there.
For much of the game it was truly painful to watch Aldridge struggle as she couldn’t overcome the pressure D and got caught in mismatches on the other end. The way she finished strong is a true credit to her. It helped that by then she was mostly off the ball.
Smith was real good , she got to play the slasher , face to the basket ,that gets her going.
I have always been a big supporter of Levy. Last night was typical , the pointless turnovers. Still ,she now HAS to be in the game they have no other options against the overplays they see now. Her offensive upside when she finds that happy medium is a wow.
At times I keep wishing they would take the decent open shots they get instead of over passing.
The women’s game is so chippy, the way they are called a mystery. Howard was a borderline dirty player last night, and there where several instances of cheap shots by M State.
At the end M State came unglued and we didn’t.
