clever and a technique of Judeo-Christians is that the ONLY alternative they propose to this 'intelligent complex life developing form 'non-life' is their God. They (perhaps you) will race quickly to ancient myths of nomadic tribe to say "here, here, here it is. It is in the Book. The Book that proves itself b/c it says so."
I propose that there exists WITHIN what you reference in your very limited perspective as 'non-life' a Consciousness that pervades all existence.
You move from the very limited perspective of the common age to point harriedly to ancient stories as the only possibility to explain your limited understanding.
Quantum Mechanics proves that Consciousness precedes the material. Wave v Particle. You should check it out. And it does not require dogmatic moralities. Your story has it backwards.
