not get paid.
Other than a free college education, or an opportunity for one, free room and board for four years, free text books that can be sold back to the school, and a stipend.
None of which are taxed if i understand correctly.
What is more valuable for an underprivileged lad with no money and no way out and up in the world, than a free education?
And you realize, actually probably not, that if they are paid, they become employees. If they are employees they can be fired. If they are fired, they don't get to go to school any more.
And they could form unions and go on strike.
And the money derived from football and basketball could not then be used to fund women's sports. And that would be sexist. And some of the women are black, so that would be racist.
And to continue those sports to avoid being racist and sexist would require increases in tuition. And that is racist as disparate impact on black students would be harsh.
The unintended consequence of socialist "fairness" gets to venezuela pretty quickly.
