If I broke the law once, 27 years ago, I am today a criminal. Do I remain a criminal evemn after six yrs in the seminary or rabbinic school. Is the rabbi a criminal?

Seems to me if you are actively engaged in a drug cartel or you are fence (not a wall ha) or a burglar fulltime then you are a criminal. You engage in crime as a livelihood.

But what of those who once committed crimes but do so no longer? Are they reformed criminals or still criminal?
