first day he told us, "My name is Dr. Wong. It's actually pronounced Wang, but it's fine if you pronounce it Wong." I never once called him Wong after I learned that. Coincidentally, I worked with his daughter (1), so started calling her Wang at work. She preferred Wong. My boss had to have a chat with me.
