perennial loser Tulane went 7-4. The next year 12-0. I was listening to him on WWL 870 radio about what it takes to win. He said, you must first recruit players capable of winning your conference. Don't worry about other conferences. Concentrate on yours. Put in schemes, offensively and defensively that complement the players skill sets to help them do what they do best. Build depth as quickly as you can. You must do this quickly to build a winning program. In losing programs like Tulane there is little margin of error. I learned this from my dad...Bobby Bowden. Before Tommy Bowden, Tulane was a perennial loser. They went back to their losing ways when Tommy Bowden left the program. I just wanted to add some contrast to this discussion.
