It's easy to try and worm your way out of something like arguing that making the NCAA tourney after the worst 3 year stretch in the school's history is "dismal". It's stupid, but worth the effort to try and save yourself some face.
Little more difficult to argue your way out of objectively false predictions. I could argue they were subjectively "laughably-false".
What did you mean when you said 20 wins wouldn't even get us on the bubble last year?
What did you mean when you said even WITH MPJ we'd only make the NIT?
