But I believe the ceiling at Mizzou was hit with Pinkel. Granted the facility upgrades might be just the ticket.

However, it's still Missouri, which is flooded with professional sports teams and remains a "blue" collar state where you have to really earn people's spending money.

All those things really struggle to make a single college football team a dominant entity.

I believe Mizzou can win a National Championship, but it would only be in fluky perfect storm scenario. I don't believe Mizzou can ever become a powerhouse football program the likes of Ohio State, Texas, Alabama, Florida, USC, Notre Dame who all have built in advantages.
