btw, i have been in various law enforcement positions for 30 years now and i tend to agree with pickle on this to be honest.

the laws are a boon to lawyers for sure. no real benefit to police. quite frankly DUI's are a giant pain in the ass and most cops i know don't like doing them b/c there is so much paperwork and time involved in it. there are some who do and that's their niche and that's fine for what it is.

there are people sober who i trust less to drive than some people who are technically drunk.
