Taking the Ancestry.com DNA test provided a number of surprises. One of them was discovery of a number of black distant relatives, who reportedly share a third or fourth Great Grandfather. Growing up in rural Missouri my heritage is, of course predominantly southern. I assume Grandpa visited the slave quarters and deposited his precious genetic materials where he shouldn't have.
