Yes, I was one of those guys calling for Odom's head, but I've seen the light. If he can just pick up his recruiting even a little bit, I think he can have a long and mostly successful career at Mizzou.
I'm wondering if the defense's improvement in recent games has come as a result of him being more involved with defensive schemes, but whatever it is, it seems to be working. Offensive play-calling has been good to great most of the year, with the possible exception being the second half against KY. The one area that really needs to be addressed is special teams, and I think Odom either needs to replace Andy Hill or at least find him a special teams consultant who can correct the many mistakes we continue to make in that aspect of the game. Special teams play is just too important to leave it to a guy who has no experience in that facet of the game.
