like DirecTV or Comcast or anything, you pick your provider (Sling, youtube TV, Hulu, PS Vue, etc) and associated TV package.

Then you pick the device in which you want to run that app (Chromecast, Amazon Firestick, Roku, Apple TV, etc). Just have to be sure to marry an app that supports that particular provider.

Then you connect the device to the internet, select the app, and watch TV like normal.
