based on the evidence that was made public, there is alot more against Bill than there is against Townsend. Obviously they are both involved, but I don't see how you make Townsend the fall guy when its Bill texting people to deliver players and thanking them for their efforts.
The other interesting thing to monitor is what do they do going forward? When the ticket scheme was exposed by the FBI, their recruiting fell off a cliff for like 2 years until they figured out an alternative means. They are already operating with a massive deficit that boosters are being asked to cover. If their boosters have to start picking up not only the full cost of their roster but also the payments to recruits they are just hoping to land and may not, how sustainable is that long term? I think there was just an embedded assumption in their model that Adidas would foot part of the bill for this kind of stuff, and its going to be hard for them to just continue on uninterrupted until they figure out a new way of hiding it. Their recruiting is probably going to completely dry up.
