they should eliminate the defined benefit plans and move to a defined contribution (401k) type plan. Perhaps the govt increases it's contribution or increases compensation, to get out from under the burden of fixed payments down the road.

The Pentagon is the most wasteful agency - and it's records are not auditable. We need to get back to a "Pre-Iraqi War" level of defense spending.
