1. For men's college basketball, it could work.
2. I personally think teams get more interesting to its fans when teams have players that stay multiple (3-4 seasons). Think of the most interesting (and best) recent(ish) Mizzou teams. You had the team with English, Denmon et al - players who had mostly been there a few years. And you had the Lyons/Carroll/Matt Lawrence team.
3. How does this translate to other collegiate sports? Would this, for example, ruin college football?
4. If teams are willing to cheat the existing rules, what's there to say that if you create rules that allow teams to pay players...that those rules won't be cheated also? At what point of leniency does the cheating stop?
