I wouldn't say it was "a whole bunch" True, there were some real talented recruits, but MU's failure to capitalize on Texas and the South cost us the 70s at a time when nu and ou were becoming dominant.

Unfortunately, Al inherited Devine's bare cupboard, improved the roster but never got over the hump.
