that has adequate talent on the floor, the only reason anybody needs a "true" PG that Tigerbored often gets worked up about is to handle the ball against a press.
And I mean a real press, not full court man. Anybody could be the guy against full court man and if you don't have at least one player on the floor who can get the ball up the court against a single guy guarding him, you have bigger problems.
But against a real press, you do want a legit stud ball handler and a couple of really good passers.
A lot of Tigerborders are convinced the PG must be a high level drive and dish guy and that is not the case. You need a good penetration guy on the floor, but it can just as easily be the 2 or the 3 and let the PG beocme spot up shooter.
Not all the time, but a lot of times, last year when we had problems with the "press" it was just full court man and we had too many guys in the way. Against full court man, get the hell hell our of the way and let your ball handler just work his guy up court.
