but he plays on them to keep his citizenry in check - kind of like the Doomsday evangelists. I think he understands starvation, but you've got to keep the Chinese from bailing him out on that front.

On the opinion territory - we've tried a lot of things that haven't worked. I don't have a problem with him trying a new approach, whether that be tariffs or bluster or whatever it turns out to be. Only time will tell whether it's successful. If it is, kudos to him.
