used to happen, as this person attests. Its also what happened to me when I left the army.
"I had a Top Secret clearance from the time I was sent to Chinese (Mandarin) language school as a young Airman, ca 1957, until I retired as a CIA GS-15 in 1995. I vividly recall signing papers that my clearance was terminated and an outline agreement as to what I could say regarding my work. Hillary said she does not recall ever doing that (blonde memory failure???). But those mentioned below should have lost their clearances when they retired or lost the job requiring a clearance. That shouldn’t be a question".
