Poor analogy. The Obama Admin stonewalled and lied to impede that Congressional investigation, even denying testimony by those with first hand knowledge of the matter. Additionally, Gowdy's investigation didn't continue uninterrupted over consecutive days. n It was intermittent. The Mueller investigation has been going on every day now for well over a year, and in fact is a continuation of the counter-intelligence investigation began by the FBI sometime in the spring of 2016.
