with that resume if not for family connections? And then jumps from there to a top D1 men's assistant coaching job if not for family connections?
I don't doubt MPS is a good guy and that he knows a lot about basketball. He may even be a terrific coach. But if we're being honest about it there's no way he gets those jobs without more experience and proven results. The question the next couple of years will be is he going to stick with it and put in the effort required for a lead assistant at this level or is he going to bail for something easier when he runs out of kids to take care of. D1 assistant coach is a tough gig if you do it right. Especially for a guy who values family time. It'll be interesting to see how it goes.
